Shipping & returns

Not interesting, but important.

Shipping

We use Royal Mail for all our deliveries, and parcels are sent fully tracked and signed for. If there’s strike action taking place, we use other couriers instead.

Standard delivery within the UK is on us, and usually takes 2-3 working days (Mon-Sat).

If you’ve got a thing this weekend and nothing to wear, you can pay £4 for next day delivery.

International delivery is £15 if you’re in Europe, and £25 for the rest of the world. This usually takes 5-7 working days, possibly longer depending on customs processing times in your country. You’re responsible for paying your country’s import duties and taxes, so please check these in advance.

We know you want your outfit yesterday. When you place an order, it will be shipped that day (if ordered in the morning) or the next working day (Mon-Sat) if you placed your order in the afternoon.

Standard delivery in the UK usually takes 2-3 days (excluding Sundays and Bank Holidays), and Next Day means the day after postage.

For our international Shorties*, delivery usually takes 5-7 working days, but can be longer depending on customs processing times.

Your parcel is fully tracked, and you’ll receive an email once it leaves us, with a tracking number you can use instead of pestering the postman.

*Are we really trying to make this happen?

Standard UK shipping is on us (mostly because we hate extra fees, too), but if it’s a fashion emergency, you can upgrade to next day delivery for £4.

International delivery is a flat fee of £15 for Europe and £25 for the rest of the world.

Every parcel is sent fully tracked, because we all have better things to worry about, like whether we ought to put our bras in laundry bags before sticking them in the washing machine.

We’ll send you a tracking number once we post your parcel. You can enter it and continually refresh the page for updates here.

If you have any problems with tracking, or you’ve been camped out on your doorstep for 3 days and there’s still no sign, email hello@shoptheshortlist.co.uk. We’ll get it fixed for you.

Returns

Just visit our simple returns portal here and follow the instructions.

Then fold your piece neatly, package her securely, and insist it isn’t her, it’s you, you’ve just got a lot of stuff on at the moment, work’s really crazy, you need time to work on yourself and she deserves more than you can give her right now.

Events get cancelled, minds can be changed, and green isn’t everyone’s colour, so we understand if you need to return something.

To return an item, you must notify us within 14 days of your item being delivered.

If you’d like a refund, your pieces must be:

  • Returned within 14 days of your notifying us
  • In pristine condition – that means unworn, unwashed, and as you received it (no marks, stains, or smells – not even your special occasion Tom Ford)
  • Complete with all tags attached and untampered with

We deal with returns as soon as we receive them, and we’ll email you when we’ve got yours sorted.

The refund will go back to the card you used. Bank processing times vary, so expect the money in your account within 10 days of our email – hopefully sooner.

If for any reason the refund isn’t showing up, first contact your credit card company, followed by your bank, to check whether there’s a delay. If you’ve done all that and you still haven’t received it, get in touch with us and we’ll do some sleuthing (we knew all that time spent online-stalking our ex would come in useful one day).

Not at the moment. Since we’re small, we had to choose between free shipping and free returns – hope you understand.

If you’re returning something, it’s best to choose a tracked service to make sure it arrives safely (anything for an easy life, we think).

If your return gets lost in the post, or is returned damaged or with signs of wear, we won’t be able to refund you.

This is why we recommend using a tracked postage service for piece of mind. This will also mean you can make a claim to the postal service using your proof of postage in the unlikely event your parcel goes missing.

If items are returned to us from overseas because of unpaid customs fees or as unclaimed post, we’ll refund this as store credit.

Please make sure you check your country’s import charges before purchasing; these can be reclaimed if you need to return your item.
